Off to the Sonic Ranch!

Tomorrow, we leave for Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, TX to record the new album. The last album, Everyone on Everynight, was recorded at Sonic Ranch’s Adobe Studio. This time, we’re tracking in their Neve Studio, also known as the “big room.” We will be spending 16 days at this state of the art residential recording studio with Paul Leary behind the mixing boards. Paul Leary has produced for artists such as Sublime, Pepper, Slightly Stoopid, & The Expendables, so we are definitely excited to be working with him. He just recently finished producing the new Sublime w/ Rome album that’s set to release this summer.

Our friend, Joel Pearish, will be joining us in the studio to document our experiences in HD. Stay tuned for video updates throughout our time at the Sonic Ranch.

Most Anticipated Albums for 2011

If you’re not familiar with ThePier.org, it’s a central hub for the latest news in the reggae/rock scene. Recently, they just posted the “Most Anticipated Albums of 2011.” Passafire has been included on this list with plans to release a new album this summer. The album will likely be produced by Paul Leary, who has an impressive resume producing for artists such as Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, & Pepper.

Also cracking the list of most anticipated albums is my boy, KnowledgeBorn07. For those of you into the hiphop/reggae vibes, be sure to visit knowledgeborn07.com and download his whole album for free. I made guest appearances on a handful of tracks from Cosmic Knowledge and plan on producing a track for his upcoming dub/remix album. The Pier just posted an album review of Cosmic Knowledge on their website today, so check it out! Also, stay tuned for some future collaborations with KnowledgeBorn07, John Gray (Fluid Minds), and myself.
